ABOUT THOSE MASKS…

Over the weekend, the Governor announced Virginia is following the CDC guidelines and lifting the universal indoor mask mandate for people who are fully vaccinated.

We have relied on CDC guidelines and carefully followed the Governor's Executive Orders in regards to restrictions and will continue to follow their guidance as those restrictions relax.

Because our customers are unmasked for the majority of their visit while enjoying a meal and conversation--and because we enjoy a large open and airy restaurant with patio seating--we will allow fully-vaccinated guests to choose whether or not they would like to wear a mask at Magpie. Vaccinations were always the end goal and you have certainly earned that right! We ask that unvaccinated guests and anyone who feels more comfortable to please continue wearing their mask when moving about the restaurant.

When social distancing guidelines lift on May 28, we plan to use a few more of our currently-unavailable seats (that oh-so-coveted empty booth by the front door!) but also maintain a healthy distance from other parties for our guests' continued comfort.

Until we are comfortable, some of our customer-facing staff will likely choose to continue wearing face masks during operational hours. We have proudly served over 60,000 guests during the pandemic without any staff covid cases and are grateful for everyone's cooperation in keeping our community safe. That speaks volumes about your care and graciousness this past year. Give us a little time and you'll be able to see our smiling faces soon, too!

DINING OPTIONS

Our seating includes a spacious year-round, 24-seat outdoor patio (with heaters and blankets in the winter) and two bright and airy interior dining rooms. We are able to roll up our large garage doors to create more open-air dining, weather permitting. Waiting for your table or takeout order inside our restaurant is NOT permitted for safety reasons as our servers need to move in and out of that door easily to access the patio. Take out is available via online ordering when capacity permits.

Our tabs have a QR code printed on them that you can scan with the camera on your smart phone. The code will take you directly to a secure payment portal where you can safely enter your credit card and pay at the table without ever handling credit card or cash.

protocols

Restaurant sanitation should always be paramount. In addition to regular routines, we are frequently sanitizing high-touch surfaces throughout the day. There are hand sanitizing stations throughout the restaurant for our customers to use. We also do daily temperature screenings of all our staff.
